A kit that allows the doctor to see, hear and measure at a distance

One of the major limitations of the televisit is the difficulty of examining the patient’s main organs due to physical distance.

TytoCare, an Israeli technology company, has developed a primary care device that connects people to family doctors to remotely perform home examinations and diagnoses.

Tyto is a kit that allows doctors to remotely examine heart, lungs, throat, ears, skin, abdomen, heart rate and body temperature and diagnose and treat many of the most common conditions, such as:

– Ear infections

– Cold and flu

– Fever

– Headache

– Eyes iIrritation

– Congestion

– Breast Pain

– Allergies

– Inflamed throat

– Cough and upper respiratory problems

– Bites and rashes

– Constipation and stomach pains

Tyto can also be used by your doctor to monitor chronic conditions and monitor your health after surgery or procedure.

Tyto consists of the main device with camera and thermometer and three adapters: otoscope for ear examination; stethoscope for cardiac and pulmonary ascultation; tongue depressor for throat examination. The kit is equipped with an iOS and Android application, called TytoApp, to conduct guided examinations with the doctor.

Tyto allows the doctor to see, hear and measure the temperature and heart rate remotely.

The kit is sold in the U.S. at a cost of $299 to which any cost of the televisit must be added.

TytoCare states that to date more than 100 health organizations and over 5,000 doctors have adopted its device.

In Italy Tyto is in use at the CAVS of Gattinara of the ASL of Vercelli that has purchased 30 devices. Here you can read an article from “La Stampa” that describes the initiative.
